To study the heat transfer performance of a new natural ester, the temperature rise of the windings and oil in a transformer is simulated by a simple experimental setup comprising a coil immersed in the oil and powered by a 50 Hz A.C. supply for 30 mins. Because of the differences in the viscosities for various oils, as noted above, the heat produced by the coil will likely to be conducted and dissipated to the entire oil differently.

Traditional magnetic tracking approaches based on mathematical models and optimization algorithms are computationally intensive, depend on initial guesses, and do not guarantee convergence to a global optimum. Although fully-supervised data-driven deep learning can solve the above issues, the demand for a comprehensive dataset hampers its applicability in magnetic tracking. Thus, we propose an annular magnet pose estimation network (called AMagPoseNet) based on dual-domain few-shot learning from a prior mathematical model, which consists of two sub-networks: PoseNet and CaliNet.

In this study, we present advances on the development of proactive control for online individual user adaptation in a welfare robot guidance scenario, with the integration of three main modules: navigation control, visual human detection, and temporal error correlation-based neural learning. The proposed control approach can drive a mobile robot to autonomously navigate in relevant indoor environments. At the same time, it can predict human walking speed based on visual information without prior knowledge of personality and preferences (i.e., walking speed).

Most plant diseases have observable symptoms, and the widely used approach to detect plant leaf disease is by visually examining the affected plant leaves. A model which might carry out the feature extraction without any errors will process the classification task successfully.  The technology currently faces certain limitations such as a large parameter count, slow detection speed, and inadequate performance in detecting small dense spots. These factors restrict the practical applications of the technology in the field of agriculture.

Although resonant vibration in the ultrasonic frequency range is thought as a power-intensive way for actuation, its application to untethered miniature mobile robots is still challenging because of lacking the onboard circuit that produces the ultrasonic signals with modulatable frequencies, voltages, and phases. To tackle this problem, first, the ultrasonic transducers whose longitudinal/bending vibrations share a common node was made to steadily support other components. Second, an onboard circuit was designed to convert the battery’s DC signal into multi-channels of ultrasonic signals amplified in a multi-level manner. Third, these components were compactly integrated to developed an untethered ultrasonic robot (U2sonobot) with fast, flexible, and load-carriable movements. The prototype was 54 × 52 × 46 mm3 in size and 76.5 g in weight, and its moving/carrying performance was assessed. At 59.3 kHz frequency, it yielded the maximal speed of 221 mm/s and the minimal step displacement of 0.3 μm. According to the wirelessly-received commands, it produced the flexible movements (e.g., those with adjustable speed/steering-radii and in-situ rotations) and climbed 8.9° slope. Moreover, it carried the maximal payload of 520 g and provided the minimal cost of transport of 3.9. The optical focusing/scanning system is a candidate application area for U2sonobot.

Existing work on radar modulation recognition is

widely based on the assumption of a single in-pulse signal,

whereas overlapping two pulse signals is an actual situation. This

paper introduces a challenging problem: modulation recognition

of overlapping intra-pulse signals, where the difficulty lies in

the fact that the number of samples grows stepwise with the

permutation of the sub-signals. In this paper, for the first time,

a series of methods for target detection are used to solve this

Radio-Frequency (RF) based User identification enables many attractive applications such as smart homes, and security management. However, laborious data collection is required due to appearance changes, inconsistent walking paths, and environmental variations. Furthermore, multi-user identification persists as an imperative for real-world applications. To this end, we propose an RFID-based user identification system (RF-UI), a few-shot, cross-interference factor, and a continuous user identification system.
