artificial intelligence

The 2020 Data Fusion Contest, organized by the Image Analysis and Data Fusion Technical Committee (IADF TC) of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) and the Technical University of Munich, aims to promote research in large-scale land cover mapping based on weakly supervised learning from globally available multimodal satellite data. The task is to train a machine learning model for global land cover mapping based on weakly annotated samples.

Computational modelling of metabolic processes has proven to be a useful approach to formulate our knowledge and improve our understanding of core biochemical systems that are crucial to maintain cellular functions. Recently, it has become evident that metabolism is not only responsible for generating the required energy and controlling the abundance of metabolites within a cell, but also has an important role in and influence on cellular fate specification.

This is a model of artificial intelligence architecture developed using the

technique of targeting and assembling various components (as needed) together

to get artificial intelligence with characteristics similar to human intelligence.

This model represents the general form, the strategy, and the mechanism of

manufacturing an artificial intelligence device and the fact that based on what

structure it can turn into artificial intelligence. One of the important features of

In recent years, researchers have explored human body posture and motion to control robots in more natural ways. These interfaces require the ability to track the body movements of the user in three dimensions. Deploying motion capture systems for tracking tends to be costly and intrusive and requires a clear line of sight, making them ill adapted for applications that need fast deployment. In this article, we use consumer-grade armbands, capturing orientation information and muscle activity, to interact with a robotic system through a state machine controlled by a body motion classifier.

Recognition of human activities is one of the most promising research areas in artificial intelligence. This has come along with the technological advancement in sensing technologies as well as the high demand for applications that are mobile, context-aware, and real-time. We have used a smart watch (Apple iWatch) to collect sensory data for 14 ADL activities (Activities of Daily Living).

This work presents a novel Anti-Islanding (AI) protection of Photovoltaic (PV) Systems based on monitoring the dc-link voltage of the PV inverter. A PV System equipped with AI protection like frequency relays, a rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) relay, and respectively the proposed dc-link voltage relay is simulated under the conditions of islanding and the detection time for all these AI techniques are compared. The study shows under which conditions our proposed dc-link voltage AI relay is the most efficient.

This work presents a Matlab/Simulink study on anti-islanding detection algorithms for a 100kW Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (PV) Array. The main focus is on the islanding phenomenon that occurs at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) between Grid-Connected PV System and the rest of the electric power system (EPS) during various grid fault conditions. The Grid-Connected PV System is simulated under the conditions of islanding, and anti-islanding (AI) relay reaction times are measured through the simulation.

Data Science is all about the processes and methods to access and analyze data to gain insights for informed decision making. To promote the awareness and analytic technology of Big Data, IEEE EMBS and the IEEE Big Data Initiative are organizing a Data Analytics Competition. The competition will be held during the International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (IEEE BHI2017), 16-19 February 2017 in Orlando, Florida, and is open to all participants of the conference.
