This study proposed a large-area deployable, modular, scalable and trimable, multi-modal, high-speed responsive electronic skin for robots that integrated remote proximity and contact force perception.

The human gait is unique and so is the impact of a walking human on the propagation of wireless signals within a wireless network. Using appropriate pattern recognition techniques, a person can thus be identified just from a time series of Received Signal Strength (RSS) measurements. This dataset holds bidirectional RSS measurements recorded within a mesh network of four Bluetooth sensor devices. During the measurements, a total of 14 subjects walked individually through the setup. A total of more than 10,000 recordings are provided.

The Bluetooth 5.1 Core Specification brought Angle of Arrival (AoA) based Indoor Localization to the Bluetooth Standard. This feature is usually referred to as Bluetooth Direction Finding. Besides localization, this new technology can be used to implement a radar system just using commodity Bluetooth chipsets. This dataset holds measurements recorded using a demonstration setup for such kind of radar system. Along with this dataset, the experimental setup, the used sensor devices, and the structure of the provided data files are described in detail.

In this paper, we propose a mecanum-built perturbation-based balance training (M-PBT) device to train a person with a neurological disorder or an elderly person to regain their deteriorated motor adaptive skill to prevent a fall. The following are the features of the device: to challenge the trainees to predict the fall direction, the device (1) generates multi-directional fall options that simulate a slip and trip scenario; (2) is portable to assist in-patients’ rehabilitation; (3) possesses qualities of modified constraint-induced movement therapy (mCIMT).

Accurate detection and segmentation of apple trees are crucial in high throughput phenotyping, further guiding apple trees yield or quality management. A LiDAR and a camera were attached to the UAV to acquire RGB information and coordinate information of a whole orchard. The information was integrated by simultaneous localization and mapping network to form a dataset of RGB-colored point clouds. The dataset can be used for methods related to apple detection and segmentation based on point clouds.

We present Hermes – a novel, low-cost, wireless, batteryless, energy harvesting system for aerial vehicles for sensing wind speed and Angle of Attack (AoA) concurrently. Hermes comprises a set of piezoelectric films which flutter due to incoming wind and the characteristics of this aeroelastic flutter are utilized for determining the wind speed and AoA of the head-wind. Hermes consists of five piezoelectric flags that are mounted on rigid clamps specifically placed at different angles.
