Abstract
The JU-Impact Radiomap Dataset is a comprehensive dataset designed for research and development in indoor positioning systems. It comprises 5431 instances characterized by readings from 105 static Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) and spans 152 distinct virtual grids. Each virtual grid represents a 1x1 square meter area, derived by dividing a physical floor of a university building into reference coordinate points (x, y). The dataset was collected over a period of 21 days using four mobile devices: Samsung Galaxy Tab, Moto G, Redmi Note 4, and Google Pixel.
An Android application was specifically developed to facilitate hotspot detection during the data collection phase. However, the dataset includes only static, registered Wi-Fi APs to ensure reliability in localization and excludes transient hotspots. Preprocessing was meticulously performed to address missing data, where absent Received Signal Strength (RSS) values were imputed with -110 dBm, signifying APs out of range.
The JU-Impact Radiomap Dataset provides a robust foundation for evaluating indoor localization algorithms, offering real-world variability and device diversity. Its detailed structure and preprocessing ensure high utility for applications in Wi-Fi-based indoor positioning and related fields.
The dataset is in CSV Format. Following are the details of the Columns.
Cell-id : Virtual Grid Label
AP001 - AP105 : RSS data from registered Wi-Fi APs.
Condition: Information of environmental Context
Device-id: Device from which data was collected.
