Abstract

Blood pressure (BP) measurement is an indispensable parameter for diagnosing many diseases, e.g., heart attack, stroke, vascular disease, and kidney disease. All these disease sometimes lead to fatal injuries due to the failure of vital human organs. The measurement of BP using BP device has several inaccuracies due to the non-availability of SI traceable calibration systems, which can also meet the criteria of International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) particularly OIML R 148 and OIML R 149 guidelines. Globally, the calibration traceability of the oscillometric BP measuring instrument is through clinical validation approach, a rigorous and time-consuming process. Therefore, we have developed a software which calibrates 20 BP measuring instruments together. The developed software provides desired pressure into the system using the automatic pressure regulator which is control by the data acquisition card (DAQ-Model NI-6321) and DAQ card is controlled using the developed software. A digital reference pressure gauge (Druck DPI-104) is interface with computer using serial communication protocol and measured pressure value in the system is display on the graphical user interface (GUI) using the developed software. The developed software operates the camera and performs the insitu image processing/video processing on the display of the BP instruments to read the pressure value. The information related devices under test (DUTs) e.g., BP instruments is stored in the individual text files with the help of the developed GUI and furthermore the calibration data (e.g., different pressure points values) is stored in the relevant files using the developed software.
