Abstract
The subject of the conducted project was research and development work aimed at developing a product innovation in the form of a robotic hospital ward. The task of such a ward was to minimize the participation of medical personnel in processes requiring contact with the patient, and thus the risk of infections and further spread of viruses.
As part of the conducted research work, the engineering team carried out an infrastructure project of a research platform that is part of the concept of a robotic hospital ward, aimed at eliminating medical personnel from a maximum number of tasks, using innovative materials with antimicrobial effects, such as: spray coatings on steel based on a copper matrix and antimicrobial tempered glass based on titanium oxide sputtering technology in the magnetron process.
The research was carried out in accordance with the IEC 60601-1 standard, in the first stage of the work, three milestones were not achieved, the achievement of which from a technical point of view conditioned the justification for further work.
The attached data present the results of research for various materials and types of coatings.
