The article examines the main stages of scientific and social activity of the famous Russian scientist Viktor Mikhailovich Pestrikov, provides a bibliography of his works in such areas as aging, destruction and diagnostics of solids; history of radio electronics, information technology; applied mathematics; general history. The article is illustrated with photographs from 1986–2011.

Context awareness is an emerging field in pervasive computing with applications that have started to emerge in medical systems. The present work seeks to determine which contexts are important for medical applications and what various domains of context aware applications exist in healthcare. Methods: A systematic scoping review of context aware medical systems currently being used in healthcare settings was conducted.

AIM: Population aging is a worldwide phenomenon leading to increased life expectancy without necessarily meaning more years of autonomous life. Frailty is characterized by diminished strength, resistance and physiological function that increase vulnerability leading to dependency and mortality. While frailty diagnoses requires a clinical assessment of the patients overall health including at least five different criteria, the relationship among them it is little explored.
