This dataset contains results and scripts from experiments evaluating the resilience of the QUIC protocol against handshake flooding attacks. It aims to support researchers and developers in analyzing the performance of QUIC against handshake flooding attacks. The experiments utilize three prominent QUIC implementations: aioquic, quic-go, and picoquic, providing a comprehensive comparison of their resilience. Additionally, to benchmark the performance and resilience of QUIC, SYN flood attacks were conducted against TCP with SYN cookies.

Existing end-to-end congestion control algorithms, in Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), use packet loss and queueing delay for congestion detection, and use static control laws to adjust the sending rate and to control the congestion. This approach presupposes that the network, and its interaction with the congestion control mechanism, is static or quasi-static. In practice, the state of the network continuously changes over time, resulting in suboptimal performance of existing algorithms.

This dataset was created using Wireshark. The dataset contains a total of 30 encrypted communication records, 3 records (.pcap) were created for each application. The records were obtained from a mobile device that was connected to the laptop using wifi technology. The laptop was connected to the Internet and contained a running instance of Wireshark to create a record. The telephone had been restarted before each record was created. After connecting to the network, the device was left without user interaction for 5 minutes.
