Abstract 

Abstract

This synthetic dataset or phantom consists of 6 raw format databases, in the three–dimensional (3-D) domain, which are identified as follows:

DB1: Ground Truth

DB2: Poisson noise

DB3: Stair-step artifact

DB4: Streak artifact

DB5: Both artifacts

DB6: Hybrid.

 

 

 

Instructions: 

The dataset considers two cones in order to simulate the human heart endocardium and the wall of the main heart chamber called the left ventricle. The 3-D computer-generated cardiac phantom is shown as a double truncated cone.

Each database consists of images with intensity information (gray levels),  is quantized to 16 bits and its spatial resolution is 256 × 256 × 50 voxels. The value 256 is equivalent to 50% of the spatial dimension of a typical cardiac CT layer and the value 50 corresponds to approximately 20% of the number of layers of the one real cardiac computed tomography database analyzed.
