Abstract
A dataset characterizing the parameters of a stepped piezoelectric cantilever beam using various geometric specifications is introduced. The dataset also shows the electric potential generated at each layer when exposed to a specific excitation frequency. The primary application of the cantilever is in ambient vibration energy harvesting, where the piezoelectric cantilever beam plays a crucial role in converting mechanical vibrations into electrical energy. By shedding light on the complex interaction between geometric features and electric potential distributions, this dataset is valuable for advancing knowledge in energy harvesting technologies. The availability of this dataset facilitates further analysis, model validation, and optimization efforts, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of ambient energy harvesting systems by optimizing geometries.
The dataset is organized in a central folder containing 12 subfolders. Each subfolder contains up to 2000 data files corresponding to various ranges of cantilever geometries.
Subfolder title represents the number of datafiles generated by the sweep process of the simulator. For example, the subfolder title “1-1000” means that the first 1000 data files corresponding to a specific range of geometries are contained. Each file in the subfolders represents a particular geometry of the cantilever and
the corresponding output potential generated.
The name of the file describes the geometry of the cantilever. For example, “results_s1width_1_s2width_5_s2height_8_s3height_7.txt” represents the geometry of the cantilever with the following
dimensions:
Step 1: 1mm width, 10mm height
Step 2: 5mm width, 8mm height
Step 3: 94mm width, 7mm height
The first five lines of the data file contain the header of the file with the following metadata: (i) Model, (ii) Version, (iii) Data of simulation, (iv) Table, and (v) Column titles of the data

Hello
Dear Sir/Ma'am
My name is Talha Javed and I am en electrical engineering student at Nust,Pakistan. I am mathematics and data analytics ethusiast who wants to find creative and inovative solutions related to problem solving. I was surfing through different research projects on IEEE and I came across this dataset which made me inquisitive about learning the consept about piezoelectric beam energy harvester and do a machine learning application on it by finding which algorithms can do best fit on the data provided in this dataset.
I would like to get a preview to this dataset if there is a way.
