Parkinson’s disease

We introduce an online-offline Iraquian hand-drawing dataset for early Parkinson’s disease detection, exclusively collected using smartphones, thus eliminating the need for specialized equipment like digitizing tablets and pens. Our dataset comprises data from 30 healthy individuals (17 men, 13 women) with an average age of 56 years (SD = 6.12) and 30 PD patients (23 men, 7 women) with an average age of 60 years (SD = 4.91), gathered at Marjan Hospital in Hilla, Babil Governorate, Iraq.

Towards an accessible vision-based exam and documentation solution using a smartphone/tablet device, we conduct a comprehensive multi-test digitized neurological examination (DNE) dataset collection, namely DNE-113. Collected over 113 participants, DNE-113, a multi-test DNE database of finger tapping, finger to finger, forearm roll, stand-up and walk, and facial activation tests. Patients in DNE-113 were diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) or at least one other neurological (OD) disorder, based on their clinical record.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by the loss of dopamine-producing brain cells. It primarily affects the patient's motor abilities but also impacts non-motor functions over time. Patients' symptoms include tremors, muscle stiffness, and difficulty walking and balancing. Then it disrupts the patients' sleep, speech, and mental functions, affecting their quality of life (QoL).
