Abstract

This dataset serves as replication package of the article "Migrating Software Systems towards Post-Quantum Cryptography - A Systematic Literature Review".
In the article, we conducted a systematic literature review which contains different phases of the search and selection procedure.
These different stages are described in detail by this replication package in order to reproduce our results.
Aditionally, the dataset contains a search-string file, which includes the used search strings for the different resources (e.g. databases, search engines). We have also structured our replication in the way it was conducted.
Overall, the dataset aims to provide transparency and facilitate further research in the field of post-quantum cryptography by offering a comprehensive overview of the methodology and results.

Migrating Software Systems towards Post-Quantum-Cryptography - A Systematic Literature Review

This is the README file for the replication package of our systematic literature review „Migrating Software Systems towards Post-Quantum-Cryptography - A Systematic Literature Review“.

Replication Package Content:

Our replication package consists of the following four main parts:

1. The related secondary studies,

2. the defined search strings,

3. the reference set and

4. the conducted search and selection

We will describe all four steps in the following in order to provide a more profound understanding of the file structure.

Related Secondary Studies

The secondary studies can be found in file "01_related_secondary_studies.html".

Search Strings

The information about the search string and filter for the corresponding databases and search engine can be found in file "02_search_strings.xlsx".

We have added the plain search string for every resource as well as an example URL with the search string and its appropriate filter.

We also highlighted the two databases on which we performed a manual search by checking every article title.

Reference Set

The reference set is located in file "03_reference_set.html".

Search and Selection Conduction

All files of our search and selection conduction can be found in folder "04_search_and_selection_conduction".

The folders file structure represents our search and selection procedure, described in Figure 2 of our article.

The individual steps of "04_search_and_selection_conduction" contain the articles of the corresponding selection.

Accordingly, the file "02_remove duplicates.html" contains 2529 articles that are left over after the duplicates have been removed.

The only exception is that not all papers added by snowballing are listed within a single file.

We skipped this and instead start by providing file "01_title.html" in folder "04_snowballing_and_application_of_selection_criteria", which only contains the articles whose title fits the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
