Abstract

This paper introduces a novel model for the electric current dissipation through a horizontally stratified multilayer soil, for any point source location and calculated for every coordinate in space. The soil characteristic functions, which describe the application of boundary conditions for each layer transition

and solution limits, are determined through a linear system solution. Once established the soil characteristic functions, the electric potential Bessel-type integration is solved through the Ogata-Sugihara formula, which has shown excellent performance for this class of problem. The paper performs several case studies, being its results confronted with other articles simulations through the Finite Element Method.
