Abstract

This letter presents a new formulation for the loss-concerned dc power flow that is suitable for optimization-based power system operation and planning. The proposed approach equivalently recasts a previously reported model that explicitly represents the differences in the power flows at the receiving
and sending ends of transmission lines due to resistive losses. More specifically, motivated by industry standards, the proposed formulation does not rely on nodal voltage phase angles, unlike the original model. The requirement of fewer optimization variables may yield significant computational savings without deteriorating solution quality as numerically verified with an illustrative network-constrained economic dispatch problem.

Hi,

My name is Abdelrahman Abdelkader. I am a PhD student at Michigan State University, USA. I would like to obtain access to your data set to use it in testing the approaches I develop in my studies.

Thank you for your time and efforts.
