Abstract

This dataset introduces the simulation and PCB design files accompanying an article on the Interleaved Boost Converter with Pulse Frequency Modulation (IBC-PFM) for Power Factor Correction (PFC). The purpose of sharing these files on the IEEE Dataport platform is to facilitate further research and development in the field of power converters.

The IBC-PFM power converter offers several noteworthy features, making it an attractive solution for high-efficiency and soft-commutation applications. Notably, it exhibits a resistive characteristic, allowing the input current to mirror the input voltage without requiring a dedicated current control loop. Additionally, the converter operates in continuous conduction for the input current and employs interleaved operation techniques.

The shared dataset includes a simulation file compatible with PSIM software, enabling researchers to explore the converter's performance and behavior. Moreover, the PCB design files for the prototype used in the associated article are provided, as a resource for hardware implementation and verification.

Instructions:

The "PFC IBC-SFM.psimsch" is a simulation file intended to be used with the PSIM software.

(PSIM 9.1)

First, extract the "PFC IBC-SFM.psimsch" from the .zip file, then open it with the PSIM software.

The simulation can be used as it is. You can also try to change the emulated resistance Re = 4LmFs to comprehend better the topology/solution proposed.

The "PFC IBC-PFM.FlatPrj" is a PCB design file intended to be used with the FlatCAM software.

(FlatCAM 8.991 BETA)
