Currency recognition and classification is one essential task to do. Both paper and coin currency play important role in transactions in everyday life. But provided there are many datasets available of paper currency, and very less datasets are available of coin currency.  Coin currency recognition becomes important because even though the amount for which people do coin transactions is small but inaccuracy in recognition can lead to huge loss. Following are the objectives to create this dataset:


Recognition and classification of currency is one of the important task. It is a very crucial task for visually impaired people. It helps them while doing day to day financial transactions with shopkeepers while traveling, exchanging money at banks, hospitals, etc. The main objectives to create this dataset were:

        1)      Create a dataset of old and new Indian currency.

        2)      Create a dataset of Thai Currency.

        3)      Dataset consists of high-quality images.


The dataset consists of 10 classes namely 10 New, 10 Old, 20, 50 New, 50 Old, 100 New, 100 Old, 200, 500, 2000 of Indian banknotes and 5 classes namely 20, 50, 100, 500, and 2000 for Thai bank notes.
