Abstract
This dataset is based on three projects carried out by groups of twenty second-year students specialising in space design, involving the layout and interior design of a restaurant in Tunis, a travel agency and a boutique hotel in the centre of Tunis. The survey aims to assess the impact of combined teaching methods in art and design education, using three complementary approaches. A structured questionnaire, developed using a Likert scale, was used to gather students' perceptions of the teaching methods, providing indications of their preferences, satisfaction and difficulties encountered. The students' feedback was also collected qualitatively including their most frequent words and expressions, revealing themes such as motivation, commitment and perceived obstacles. Finally, key performance indicators, such as overall satisfaction rates, academic results, and frequency of terms in feedback, provide an objective and in-depth assessment of the effectiveness of the pedagogical methods adopted.
This dataset includes 8 files describing the data collected of 60 students during space design lectures:
- KPIs.csv: 19 columns introducing the adapted evaluation criteria used by teachers for rating the students performance: (1 = "Low performance"; 5 = "High performance").
- Satisfaction_active_and_collaborative.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the adapted "active and collaborative" teaching method: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Satisfaction_class_relocation.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the adapted "class relocation" teaching method: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Satisfaction_flipped_classroom.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the adapted "flipped classroom" teaching method: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Satisfaction_peer_learning.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the adapted "peer learning" teaching method: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Satisfaction_project_based.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the adapted "project-based learning" teaching method: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Satisfaction_use_of_blackboard.csv: 5 columns introducing the qualification used by the student for rating the use of blackboard: (1="weakly satisfied"; 5 = "strongly satisfied")
- Studentsfeedback.csv: text data inclusing the students' feedbacks regarding 6 teaching methods.
