Abstract

Two-electrode straight open magnetic source (TSOMS) has been widely used on the magnetic minesweeper and magnetic decoy. Fast-forward modeling and obtaining the high-precision magnetic field in the air are the prerequisites for real-time inversion and positioning of the TSOMS. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to calculate the magnetic field of the two-electrode straight open magnetic source (MFTSOMS) by previous theoretical research. And a classical algorithm of electric dipole magnetic field is used to verify the correctness of our algorithm. Considering the relationship between the accuracy and efficiency of the calculation, the optimized number of subdivision units of n = 105 is determined. In this case, the time range of calculating one point is from 0.01 to 0.2 seconds, and the order of magnitude of the calculation accuracy is about 10-6. Furthermore, a scaling experiment has been performed, and the results show a great agreement with the simulation under the optimized number of subdivision units. Index Terms—Magnetic Field of the Two-electrode Straight Open Magnetic Source (MFTSOMS), calculation accuracy, calculation efficiency, scaling experiment.

A total of 5 .txt format data files are used in this paper.
Columns 1,2, and 3 correspond to the data of sensors on line1, 2, and 3, respectively.
1. The file name "databackgroundmag.txt" indicates the background noise of magnetic field around the scene of the experiment.
2. The file name "data020mag3Hz.txt" indicates the total magnetic field amplitude of 3Hz generated by the two-electrode straight open magnetic source (TSOMS)20cm below the water surface. (After FFT transformation, the signal amplitude of 3Hz is extracted)
3. The file name "data055mag3Hz.txt" indicates the total magnetic field amplitude of 3Hz generated by the two-electrode straight open magnetic source (TSOMS)55cm below the water surface. (After FFT transformation, the signal amplitude of 3Hz is extracted)
4. The file name "data090mag3Hz.txt" indicates the total magnetic field amplitude of 3Hz generated by the two-electrode straight open magnetic source (TSOMS)90cm below the water surface. (After FFT transformation, the signal amplitude of 3Hz is extracted)
5. The file name "data125mag3Hz.txt" indicates the total magnetic field amplitude of 3Hz generated by the two-electrode straight open magnetic source (TSOMS)125cm below the water surface. (After FFT transformation, the signal amplitude of 3Hz is extracted)
