Abstract

The dataset corresponding to the measurements performed in the article "Freehand System for Probe-Fed Antenna Diagnostics by Means of Amplitude-Only Acquisitions" is provided. In this work, a freehand acquisition system is used to characterize an integrated antenna fed by a GSG probe by means of amplitude-only measurements, with phase retrieval based on an indirect holography technique for broadband antennas. Spatial filtering and time-gating techniques are applied to eliminate the effect of the feeding probe. The provided data corresponds to the measured hologram on an arbitrary grid of spatial points for a broadband frequency range, along with the static reference signal and the point grid. This enables the retrieval of the antenna's phase and the calculation of its radiation pattern after applying the indicated filtering techniques and near-field to far-field transformation.

Instructions:

The hologram was measured in 18039 spatial points.

A frequency sweep of 1601 points from 50 to 70 GHz has been made at each spatial point.

Data are given in a .mat file in a struct with 4 fields:

  • grid: 18039 x 3 matrix. Coordinates (x, y, z) correspond to columns 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Units are [meters].
  • frequencies: 1601 x 1 vector with the swept frequencies. Units are [Hz]
  • Hologram: 18039 x 1601 matrix. Each row corresponds to the hologram in the frequency domain. Units are [V/m].
  • reference: 1601 x 1 vector. static reference branch for the swept frequencies. Units are [V/m].
