Short Bio:
I am a Postdoc at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (DIETI) of the University of Napoli Federico II since February 2017. I have received my Ph.D. degree in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in April 2020 and my MS Degree in Computer Engineering in July 2015, both from the same University. In my Ph.D. Thesis, I propose a set of novel methodologies for mobile and encrypted traffic classification via machine and deep learning approaches. I am a member of the Traffic research group whose activities are carried out in the field of Computer Networks under the guidance of Prof. Antonio Pescapè. In detail, my work is focused on network measurements, (encrypted and mobile) traffic classification, modeling and prediction, monitoring and assessment of cloud network performance, Internet topology discovery, and Internet censorship detection and circumvention.

Datasets & Competitions

Network traffic analysis, i.e. the umbrella of procedures for distilling information from network traffic, represents the enabler for highly-valuable profiling information, other than being the workhorse for several key network management tasks. While it is currently being revolutionized in its nature by the rising share of traffic generated by mobile and hand-held devices, existing design solutions are mainly evaluated on private traffic traces, and only a few public datasets are available, thus clearly limiting repeatability and further advances on the topic.
