Endemic fish species are key components in seafood culinary excursions. Despite the increasing interest in leveraging technology to enhance various seafood culinary activities, there is a shortage of comprehensive datasets containing images of seafood used in artificial intelligence research, mainly those showcasing endemic fish. This research endeavors to bridge this gap by increasing the accuracy of fish recognition and introducing a new dataset comprising images of native fish for application in various machine-learning investigations.

Pelagic fish such as mackerel are a source of protein in Indonesia. However, there is no decapterus macarellus as an open dataset for image processing using various classification algorithms. Where its use includes the sensor-assisted sorting process in checking fresh fish and rotten fish. For this reason, this study aims to provide a classification model for pelagic fish and their primary datasets which is available for free on the IEEE data port. Artificial intelligence is used in the process of guided classification with the help of ground truth for the preparation of fish classes.

This research has produced datasets that can be used openly for other researchers. The dataset is compiled from images of woven fabrics originating from the East Nusa Tenggara Province of Indonesia. A total of 68 fabrics from six districts have been grouped and gone through the image embedding process to become RAW numerical data for further processing. By using Logistic Regression, the classifier accuracy rate for this dataset is only 79.4%. For that other researchers can contribute to improve this accuracy.
