Abstract

Social media data mining is a popular way to find out different preferences, biases, and overall sentiments of a group of people on a specific topic. On 24th February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. A social media war also starts with the ground war. People from multiple countries have participated in that social media war. Twitter is one of the most popular micro-blogging sites. There are multiple hashtags with Ukraine-Russia tweets emerging having millions of tweets. #ukrainerussiawar, #ukraine #russia #ukrainewar are some of the popular hashtags on this topic. The dataset has been generated using Twitter API and OSINT tools. The collected raw data has been processed to remove duplicate tweets, empty rows, and unnecessary columns. It contains 55186 unique tweets in 57 different languages loosely coupled to the Ukraine-Russia war. The details about the date and time of the tweet, language used, attachments URL, number of likes, retweets and replies, and hashtags used for each tweet are present in the dataset. The data can be used for sentiment analysis and other NLP-related works.
