Abstract

The dataset includes three files collected from the the CAN bus of a moving vehicle. They are:

1- CAN log with no injection of fabricated messages

2- CAN log with injection of fabricated RPM reading messages

3- CAN log with injection of fabricated speed reading messages

The description of the data collection process is available in this paper:

L. Ben Othmane, L. Dhulipala, N. Multari and M. Govindarasu, "On the Performance of Detecting Injection of Fabricated Messages into the CAN Bus," in IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, doi: 10.1109/TDSC.2020.2990192.

Instructions:

This is an example of CAN message = (1522028512.233563) can0 254#918FFE0603A60FFF

Each row of the data corresponds to a message broadcasted by an ECU on the CAN bus. Below is the parsing of the message: (1522028512.233563) can0 254#918FFE0603A60FFF

1522028512.233563 => order token

can0 => Bus

254 => CAN ID
