Abstract

Datasetsof Med-RISE:

The study incorporates three datasets, each serving a unique purpose in medical research and analysis:

Code for the Med-RISE framework (Appendix 1), which details the architecture of Med-RISE.

Med-RISE Local Dataset (Appendix 2): A sample subset from the Med-RISE database, which was specifically created for this study. It integrates biomedical articles, clinical resources, medical textbooks, and general medical knowledge, offering a diverse and comprehensive resource for exploring various medical disciplines.

EYE500 Dataset (Appendix 3): A dataset explicitly developed for this study in collaboration with ophthalmologists from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University. It focuses on ophthalmology-related data to support specialized research in eye health and medical decision-making.

PubMedQA (Revised Version) (Appendix 4): A refined version of the PubMedQA medical reading comprehension dataset. This dataset comprises questions derived from biomedical abstracts requiring “yes,” “no,” or “maybe” answers. The revision was necessary due to the potential inaccuracies in answers caused by the variability in the quality and interpretation of the original studies. To ensure reliability, two medical experts independently re-verified the answers, with a senior physician resolving disagreements. This revision enhances the dataset's accuracy and trustworthiness for answering biomedical research questions.
