Comparison of Electrodynamics Properties of Conducting Metallized and Carbon Nanostructured Films

Abstract
The article presents the results of an experimental study of the absorption properties of carbon nanostructured films in the S-band. The dependence of the transmission, reflection and absorption coefficients on the resistance of carbon samples with an absorption peak of an incident electromagnetic wave in the resistance range of 350–400 Ohm is shown. A comparison of the electrodynamics properties of metallized thin films and nanostructured carbon materials is carried out, indicating the active behavior of these structures in microwave frequencies and its certain similarity in terms of pronounced absorption peaks in the frequency range of 2.4–4.2 GHz. The maximum values of the absorption coefficient for metallized films were obtained – 35%, for carbon films – 25%. Differences in absorption indices are associated with the heterogeneity of the conductivity of various layers of carbon films and the presence of a hopping mechanism during the transition from one nanostructured channel to another.
