Abstract

Six flexible piezoelectric sensors were evenly attached around the patella of the knee joint to capture patellar motion signals during the knee flexion process. This dataset includes data from three distinct participant groups categorized by knee joint health status. The healthy group consists of 27 participants with normal knee joints (10 females). The subhealthy group includes 15 participants from Beihang University experiencing mild knee discomfort (8 females). Finally, the unhealthy group comprises 7 participants clinically diagnosed with knee pathologies (5 females). This dataset supports research on knee joint biomechanics and health diagnostics.

Instructions:

The dataset contains data from three participant groups based on knee joint health status:

Healthy group: 27 participants with healthy knee joints (10 females). Subhealthy group: 15 participants from Beihang University with mild knee discomfort (8 females). Unhealthy group: 7 participants diagnosed with knee pathologies (5 females).

The dataset is divided into three folders: healthy, subhealthy, and unhealthy. Each folder contains samples corresponding to its group, organized as follows:

  1. Healthy group (healthy folder):
  • Number of samples: 27
  • Repetitions per sample: 4 times
  • Total CSV files per sample: 8 files
    • Files 0, 1, 2, 3: Data from sensors 1–3 for four repeated trials.
    • Files 4, 5, 6, 7: Data from sensors 4–6 for four repeated trials.
  • Subhealthy group (subhealthy folder):
    • Number of samples: 15
    • Repetitions per sample: 2 times
    • Total CSV files per sample: 4 files
      • Files 0, 1: Data from sensors 1–3 for two repeated trials.
      • Files 2, 3: Data from sensors 4–6 for two repeated trials.
  • Unhealthy group (unhealthy folder):
    • Number of samples: 7
    • Repetitions per sample: 1 time
    • Total CSV files per sample: 2 files
      • File 0: Data from sensors 1–3 for one trial.
      • File 1: Data from sensors 4–6 for one trial.

The files are sequentially named (e.g., 0, 1, 2) and store piezoelectric signals captured during knee flexion movements. This dataset is designed to support the analysis of sensor data for studying knee joint health and diagnostics.
