Abstract

The digital health service market has gained higher demand, but there lacks intensive research to propose a usability design framework for the health service mobile application that caters to older adults in Malaysia. This research proposes an enhanced usability framework to support the design and development of the Malaysia health service mobile applications to serve older users. A proof-of-concept health service mobile application prototype, which was designed with seven usability factors such as efficiency, help and documentation, learnability, memorability, user-friendliness, need-based, and push-basedwas tested in 151 older adults, where the participants were guided to complete tasks and explored the features in the application before they answered a questionnaire to determine their agreement on the usability factors that indicate their acceptance in using the health service mobile application.
