Reaching a Broader Community with IEEE DataPort

COVID-19 has undoubtedly affected the entire world. My dataset, which was developed based on the work of the GeoCOV19Tweets Dataset, is a network analysis of data from Twitter, extracting relationships between a geolocation and the hashtags used in tweets. This can be used to explore patterns in what Twitter users were tweeting about during specific locations throughout the pandemic, and perhaps make predictions for the future.

For a dataset on a virus that has affected the entire world, it is incredibly valuable to have the global public reach afforded by the IEEE DataPort Platform and the IEEE community. Scholarly data and publications are rarely free to access. With IEEE DataPort’s open access, my data is now available around the world.
