A licensed P.Eng. in Ontario, Mr. Zahid has held a protection planning position at Hydro One's Planning division since 2013. Companies he has previously been employed by include TTC, AREVA and GE during 2006-2013 where he worked in designing protection and control systems, relay technical and applications support, engineering services and technical marketing. He's an IEEE Senior Member, active in IEEE PES PSRC Committee working groups, contributing to standards, guides and technical reports. Besides his professional role, Mr. Zahid has served as Media Chair for Professional Engineers Ontario, Oakville Chapter. He is now a Board Member and Webmaster of IEEE Hamilton Section, as well as Assistant Webmaster for IEEE PES PSRC Committee. His academic background includes a M.Eng. from Concordia University, Quebec, a combined B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Russia, and two years of post-graduate research experience with a focus on Power System fields.
