Contacting a Dataset Owner in IEEE DataPort
- Go to ieee-dataport.org
- Login to IEEE DataPort using the button in the upper right hand corner of the ieee-dataport.org home page using your IEEE login (staff logins do not have access at this time). Note: If you do not currently have an IEEE login, please click Sign Up in the upper right hand corner of the home page to acquire an IEEE login without cost.
- Go to DATASETS tab.
- Search for a dataset using keywords in the Search Bar or browse dataset categories shown on lower left hand side of page.
- Click on the dataset for which you want to contact the dataset owner (Note: you do not have to be a subscriber to contact a dataset owner).
- On the right hand side of the page you can scroll to see the following sets of information: Dataset Files, Dataset Details, Categories & Keywords, Documentation, and Subscribe. Under the Subscribe section on the right hand side of the page you will see two options for providing feedback:
- Send Author a Private Message
- Report a Problem with this Dataset
- Contact the dataset owner by selecting Send Author a Private Message link. You will be provided with a form which has the “To:” field filled out with the data owner and you can add a Subject and then write a message in the Message Box. After you have finished your entry, hit SEND MESSAGE button below the Message box and your message will be sent directly to the dataset owner.
- Congratulations - you now know how to contact a dataset in IEEE DataPort! IEEE DataPort users are encouraged to utilize the Send Author a Private Message link to connect with a specific dataset owner. This method enables you to ask a question about the dataset, make a suggestion to the dataset owner, or possibly start a collaboration.
