Abstract

PV Solar Power System Under Partial Shading Irradiance Conditions

Operation of a photovoltaic (PV) solar array connected to a variable DC source to plot the l-V and P-V characteristics under partial shading irradiance conditions.

This dataset contains the model and simulation output results in Matlab/Simulink environment of the effects of PV solar arrays under partial shading conditions in different configuration with and without bypass protection diodes studied in a work submitted to the Solar Energy, Elsevier (Q2, 6.7 Impact Factor). The paper was presented at the 18th International Conference of Constructive Design and Technological Optimization in Machine Building (https://oproteh.ub.ro/).

Instructions:

1. Open the script: PV_Solar_Array_3x2_Plots_script.m
2. Change the "DiodeMode = 1;" from the "%% Display Simulink Model" Section to desired case study.
DiodeMode = 1 - Case 1: Without Shading
DiodeMode = 2 - Case 2: Partial Shading and Without Protection Diodes
DiodeMode = 3 - Case 3: Partial Shading and Only Bypass Diodes
DiodeMode = 4 - Case 4: Partial Shading and Both Bypass and Blocking Protection Diodes
3. Run the script.
