Abstract:

Terabytes of brain EEG data are available through open sources, collected from tests associated with human cognitive capability, stroke patient recovery, class learning ability, and other social environments, over a wide range of demographics. Some also play with stimulus such as audio, music, video, lights and digital games.

You are cordially invited to register for the second Brain Data Bank Challenge to be held on 3 September 2017 as part of the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics – Berlin. You can exercise your curiosity and creativity to make sense of the datasets that you have selected for the challenge.

The purpose of this challenge is to:

  • educate brain signal system technology

  • assess usability of current brain signal databases

  • explore Big Data analytics, artificial intelligence, deep learning for user-centric brain signal databank

  • facilitate brain signal data formatting standardization

More details are available at https://brain.ieee.org/news/call-participation-ieee-brain-data-bank-chal...

Instructions:

Teams/individuals are expected to creatively demonstrate value based on open source or private brain data.  Open source brain data include, but are not limited to the following:

  • University of California - San Francisco, NeuroRacer brain signal datasets, Nature, The International Weekly Journal of Science, doi: 10.1038/nature12486, p. 97 - 101, continued with notes, p. 1-28, 5 Sept., 2013.   Please complete the form (see below) to request access to these datasets which have been uploaded onto IEEE DataPort.

  • University of California – San Diego, Swartz Center of Computational Neuroscience released EEG data acquired using the Neuroscan software, https://sccn.ucsd.edu/~arno/fam2data/publicly_available_EEG_data.html.

  • Brain/Neural Computer Interaction: Horizon 2020 - Open access BCI datasets, http://bnci-horizon-2020.eu/database/data-sets

Private brain signal data are also allowed should participants decide to bring their own.

Registration is OPEN at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeIgQki8aSiSAxiPpT9-WO39RdAFB63...

Please contact bdb-berlin@ieee.org if you have any questions specific to this event in Berlin.
